Last week saw the annual return of Earth Day and each year I think about ways I’m able to contribute to a new plan of action for our planet.
I aim to be environmentally responsible in all aspects of my life. I’m a lifelong vegetarian (I was raised veggie!), I’ve ditched fast fashion and go plastic free wherever possible.
Until I discovered Wolf & Gypsy, I didn’t really consider incorporating ethically-sourced jewellery into my happy earth commitment. The brand approached me and allowed me to choose an item from their collection. I was spoilt for choice, there are so many beautiful pieces to choose from.
Ethical Materials
Wolf & Gypsy jewellery is made with recycled silver and their 14ct gold jewellery is also recycled. I know what you’re thinking. Why do we need recycled jewellery? Using recycled silver actually cuts down CO2 emissions by a huge 66%. You can learn more here in their blog.
Their beautiful pieces contain conflict-free gemstones and their packaging is recyclable but also bio-degradable. Not only do they ensure their products are sustainable, they also support the organisation 1% For The Planet. They donate a minimum of 1% of their revenue to support environmental non-profit organisations. How incredible is that?
The Jewellery
It took me some time to choose an item from the Wolf & Gypsy website, as there are so many stunning pieces to pick from. There are necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings in many unique designs. You can view their collections here.
As I’m a bit of an astrology geek, I eventually chose the Fire Element Necklace in gold. I’m a Sagittarius and I’m definitely a true fire sign. I chose chain length 20” and they also offer the necklace in silver.
The necklace features a textured gold coin pendant with the fire symbol embossed amongst three beautiful garnet gemstones. The “fire” inscription on the reverse of the coin is a really lovely touch.
Worn alone or layered with another simple chain, this necklace looks dainty and minimalistic, but still with a unique touch. I haven’t taken it off since I received it, it goes with everything and is a staple piece I wear daily.
Have you tried Wolf & Gypsy or do you have your eye on something from their collection?
